In this webinar Sue will talk about the origin, content, concept, and binding of her artist’s book Nine Herbs Charm which took on its final form during lockdown as a result of walking locally.
Sue Doggett creates hand-made books and bindings. Her creative interests include surface design, women’s history, sewing as drawing, memory, music, myth and the history of magic. Sue gained a first class honours degree in Visual Studies and Art History from Oxford Brookes University and an MA in Design from Brighton University. She was elected a Fellow of Designer Bookbinders in 1996. She is currently co-ordinator for Bookbinding and Calligraphy courses at The City Lit in London, where she also teaches bookbinding and book arts. Her work is represented in public collections in the UK, Europe, Australia and the USA and she has been commissioning editor of ‘The New Bookbinder’, the international publication of Designer Bookbinders, since 2019.
Webinars are completely free and run bi-monthly around the middle Wednesday of the month at 7.00pm GMT via Zoom. Each webinar will last roughly 1 hour plus 15 minutes for Q&A via the chat option.
