In this Webinar Jacqui will briefly explain tools and materials for use in lino printing. She will describe how mark making, and negative and positive design elements are used for making linocuts. Jacqui will then show examples of linocut designs used in bookbinding, including the work of other printmakers and illustrators.
Jacqui has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and works predominantly in printmaking. She is an elected Associate Member of the RBSA (Royal Birmingham Society of Artists), a member of the Printmakers Council London, Leicester Print Workshop and Wrexham Print Centre. Her work has been exhibited at Bankside Gallery London, Royal Cambrian Academy, Art Pavilion London, Mostyn Gallery, Barbican Library and other galleries nationally. Awards include funded projects by Arts Council England and Shropshire Council: new work for Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery; a touring Cabinet of Curiosity and two exhibitions marking the anniversaries of the start and the end of WW1.
Jacqui set up and taught a City & Guilds Printmaking course at Westhope College, Shropshire which incorporated printmaking alongside basic bookbinding techniques. She teaches a variety of print workshop techniques in colleges, galleries, museums, heritage venues and to various groups.
