Making a Travel Journal with Glenn Malkin

September 18 @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm

Course summary: This A5 size book will be an adhesive bound structure with a semi-flexible cloth covered case. We shall incorporate an elastic closure and a pocket inside the rear cover to keep tickets and ephemera safe.

Tools required: a finishing press to hold the book vertically whilst gluing, a hammer for rounding the spine, sharp craft knife/scalpel, metal ruler, junior hacksaw, cutting mat, scissors, large and small glue brushes, PVA, some scrap paper and your usual bookbinding bits and pieces! Glenn splits his time between routine repair work, design binding and teaching bookbinding in Hull, Shropshire and elsewhere.
