Book Arts Day: Talk by David Jury, plus Book Arts Fair and Exhibition 

The main aim of the day is to increase the knowledge of Book Arts amongst members and to encourage dialogues, and collaborative networking between Book Artists and Bookbinders.

 

The day will comprise of an illustrated talk by David Jury an author, editor, and designer of books concerning typography, printing, graphic design and Book Art. He is also a lecturer in Typographic Enquiry on the MA Typography course at Cambridge School of Art. Prior to this position, David created and led the MA Art, Design and the Book at The Colchester Institute. He is also proprietor of the Fox Ash Press, designing and letterpress printing limited edition books from his studio. These books are in international collections including the Tate Gallery, Yale Centre for British Art and the Nationale Bibliotheek van Nederland.

 

There will also be a Book Arts Fair presenting a variety of emerging and established Book Artists who will be happy to discuss their work, with most works for sale.

Some artists will be demonstrating their techniques.

There will also be a mini exhibition of Sonia Serrao’s personal collection of Artists’ Books collected over the last 20+ years.
