The Summer 2026 edition of The Single Fold, the East Anglia Region's newsletter, is now available to download. This issue covers a busy few months for the region, with reports on outreach work, workshops and a decorative technique brought back to life.

Hazel Garrity writes about teaching bookbinding to 9-16 year olds as part of a Suffolk Libraries project, and Hazel Jordan, Paul Garcia and Peter Whiteley have been running talks and workshops at Bury St Edmunds library and Colchester Makerspace. The issue also reports on the final session of the Zero to Book course at Linton, tutored by Alan Fitch and Mylyn McColl, and the region's continued presence at the Long Melford Book and Postcard Fairs.

The highlight of this issue is a detailed account by Graham and Carole Lampard of learning tree-calfing, a near-lost decorative technique using potassium carbonate and ferrous sulphate to create a tree-like pattern on calf leather, taught to them by Dominic Riley. The issue closes with diary dates for the region's remaining 2026 workshops and a look ahead to 2027.
