Regional AGM +
Our Regional Annual General Meeting will be held (again) at the Taunton Library Meeting Room. George Davidson (Education and Training Task Force) has agreed to come all the way from East Anglia to explain the Certificate of Competence and to show us some relevant bindings. There will also be room for a table-top sale. We shall finish with a sandwich and glass of wine.
Coffee from10.30 am. AGM starts at 11.00 am.

Mark Cockram: Decorative Techniques for the Contemporary Bookbinder (workshop)
The Region bought a day of Mark's time at the E&T Conference Auction. He is coming from London to lead a full-day workshop especially for us. Check out Mark's website to see examples of his work.

Dominic Riley & Michael Burke: The Ideal Sketchbook & The Ideal Album (workshop)
Over the course of two days we shall make "The ldeal Sketchbook" and "The Ideal Album" – both ingenious structures. Our tutors will be Dominic Riley (DB Fellow, Vice-President of the Society and co-founder of the SoB Seminar and DB/SoB joint workshop series) and Michael Burke (specialist in ancient and medieval bindings). This workshop is suitable for all skill levels.

Supper and slide show at Sarah's house on Saturday evening. Book your own accommodation asap as the workshop is in May not April this year.

James Cassels: Longstitch Binding (demonstration)
James will demonstrate, in his new workshop near Winkleigh, Devon, longstitch binding which he has recently used for rebinding 16th century music manuscripts. There should be an opportunity to 'have a go'.

Tyntesfield (visit)
A special visit to Tyntesfield, a National Trust property near Bristol. We will see the library with the librarian and then the house. It has taken us several years to organise this visit. Lunch and tea will be available.
National Trust members enter free, non-members must pay the admission charge. SoB will have to make a small charge to cover the cost of volunteers.

Royston Haward: Wooden Board Binding (workshop)
We go southwest again to the Dartington Hall Bindery to have a full-day Wooden Board Binding workshop with Royston Haward from the British Library who will demonstrate the subject so that we can take home a small wooden board binding. He will also talk about its historical background.
