STUART BROCKMAN

Stuart assisted his father, Jim, from the age of 7 and, since gaining an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London in 1994, has worked full-time in the Brockman bindery. He was elected a Licentiate of Designer Bookbinders in 1999 and has given workshops and has lectured in the UK, Canada and Finland.

Stuart taught gold tooling at Guildford College in 1999 and 2000 and was awarded first prize at The Bookbinding Competition 2000 (Open Choice). Also in 2000, he set up and ran a bindery in Chile. His bindings can be found in several private collections as well as in The British Library.
