INTRODUCTION

The Society of Bookbinders’ seventeenth biennial Education & Training Conference will be held at the University of Warwick from Thursday 20th to Sunday 23rd August 2009.

The University campus was recently voted the best in the UK and is located in the English Midlands, on the edge of Coventry - under two hours from London by rail or road. It’s a lively, cosmopolitan place with its own shops, banks, bars and restaurants. On three sides it is surrounded by fields and woodlands; on the fourth is a modern residential district of Coventry.

Coventry itself is a mediæval city, now rebuilt after its devastation in World War II into a bustling industrial hub with international businesses and a famous cathedral. There is plenty to explore nearby, including Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick with its castle - the finest medieval fortress in the country.

We look forward to welcoming members and non-members to what we are confident will be one of our most successful conferences
.
